Rundown Club ("we," "us," or "our"), operates this newsletter service. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

Geographic restrictions

This service is not available to residents of the European Union or European Economic Area. We do not knowingly collect personal information from EU/EEA residents. If you are located in the EU/EEA, please do not subscribe to our service.

• Geolocation data: Approximate location based on IP address (city/region level)
• Device and browser information: Basic technical information for analytics
• Cookies and local storage: Session identifiers and preference storage

How we use your information

• Deliver daily email digests
• Display your comments and votes on articles
• Improve article selection and curation quality
• Send occasional product updates or announcements
• Track engagement metrics in aggregate
• Prevent spam and abuse

Automated decision-making

We use automated systems and artificial intelligence to make decisions about:

• Content selection: Which articles and posts appear in your newsletter is determined entirely by AI algorithms based on relevance scores, quality metrics, and engagement patterns
• Content ordering: The order and prominence of content in each issue is determined by AI ranking
• Personalization: Future features may use AI to customize content selection based on your reading patterns

These automated decisions affect what content you see but do not have legal or similarly significant effects. You can opt out of the Service entirely by unsubscribing at any time.

Advertising measurement

We use the Meta Pixel from Meta Platforms to measure how well our ads on Facebook and Instagram bring in subscribers. Meta Privacy Policy

• When it loads: Only for visitors who arrive from one of our Meta ads, and only on the page the ad opens and on the signup confirmation page. It never loads for visitors in EU member states, the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, as reported by our location lookup, and it does not load for other readers.
• What it sends to Meta: Page views, the signup event, button clicks and page details, and contact details typed into forms on those pages, such as your email address, which Meta may hash and use to match visitors to its users. Meta uses this information for its own advertising purposes as well as ours.
• How to opt out: Use the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out, Your Online Choices, or your Meta ad preferences.

We also use the Reddit Pixel from Reddit, Inc. to measure our advertising on Reddit. Reddit Privacy Policy

• When it loads: On every page of our sites, for all visitors.
• What it sends to Reddit: A page visit event with the address of the page and basic information about your browser and device. Reddit may set a cookie to recognise your browser, and uses this information for its own advertising purposes as well as ours.
• How to opt out: Use the Digital Advertising Alliance opt-out, Your Online Choices, your Reddit privacy settings, or a browser content blocker.

AI processing

We use AI to analyze publicly available news articles and community posts for content curation.

What we process with AI

• Article data
• Publisher metadata (tags, categories)
• Public posts from community platforms (Reddit)

What we don't process with AI

• Your personal information (email, profile data)
• Your email content
• Your private comments (AI moderation uses pattern matching only)

Your control: We do not use your personal data to train AI models. Article text sent to AI providers is not associated with your identity. You can opt out by unsubscribing.

Information sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information in these circumstances:

With your explicit consent

• Sponsor lead generation: If you explicitly opt-in to share your information with sponsors or partners (e.g., by filling out a lead generation form), we will share only the information you provide in that form with the specified sponsor. This is always optional and requires your affirmative action.
• Your control: You can always choose not to participate in sponsor offers. Declining will not affect your newsletter subscription.

Without your consent (limited circumstances)

• Service providers: The essential service providers listed above, necessary to operate the newsletter (these providers are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for providing services to us). Meta is not one of them: it uses pixel data for its own advertising, as described under Advertising measurement.
• Legal requirements: When required by law, subpoena, court order, or legal process
• Protection of rights: To protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users or the public
• Business transfers: In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (with notice to affected users)

California residents: We do not "sell" personal information as defined by CCPA. Opt-in sponsor lead sharing (described above) is not considered a "sale" under CCPA because it requires your explicit, affirmative consent for each instance.

Cookies and tracking technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for:

• Essential cookies: Session management and authentication
• Analytics cookies: Measuring engagement and improving content selection
• Preference cookies: Remembering your settings

The only advertising technologies we use are the Meta Pixel and Reddit Pixel described under Advertising measurement. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though some features may not work properly if cookies are disabled.

Data retention

• Subscribers: We retain your email address and other data you supply
• After unsubscribe: Your email is removed from active mailing lists immediately
• Comments and votes: May remain associated with an anonymized ID after account deletion
• Analytics data: Retained for up to 90 days, then aggregated or deleted
• Legal requirements: Some data may be retained longer if required by law or for legitimate business purposes

Data security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:

• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
• Secure database storage with access controls
• Regular security audits and updates
• Limited employee access on a need-to-know basis

However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights and choices

All users

• Unsubscribe: Click the unsubscribe link in any email
• Access your data: Request a copy of your personal data
• Delete your data: Request deletion of your personal information
• Correct your data: Update your email address or other information
• Opt-out of communications: Unsubscribe from marketing emails (you'll still receive essential service emails)

California residents (CCPA rights)

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):

• Right to know: Request details about personal information we collect, use, and share
• Right to delete: Request deletion of your personal information (subject to certain exceptions)
• Right to opt-out of sale: We do not sell personal information
• Right to non-discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights

Do Not Sell My Personal Information: We do not sell personal information to third parties. We share data with the service providers described in this policy, with Reddit through the Reddit Pixel, and, for visitors who arrive from a Meta ad, with Meta, as described under Advertising measurement.

Children's privacy

Our service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, contact us at legal@rundownclub.com.

Data breach notification

In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you via email within 72 hours of discovering the breach, as required by applicable law. The notification will include:

• The nature of the breach
• The types of information affected
• Steps we are taking to address the breach
• Steps you can take to protect yourself

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. In that event, we will update the "Last changed" date at the top of this policy, add the change to the list below, and note a change in your newsletter. Your continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
